A WiFi QR code that scans on the first try
A WiFi QR code stores the network name, the encryption type and the password in a standard format that the iPhone and Android cameras recognize with no extra apps. When scanned, the phone offers to join the network right away.
When you add a logo, part of the code is covered. That is why we use the highest error-correction level (H), which can recover the data even if part of the square is hidden. Keep the logo under about 25% of the width so it stays reliable, even in low light.
To print, download the SVG: it is vector, so it scales to any size without losing sharpness, from a table card to a poster. If you prefer an image, the PNG is exported at high resolution. Always check the contrast between modules and background: light modules on a dark background are not read by every scanner.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my WiFi password sent to any server?
- No. Your files and data never leave your device: the QR code is generated inside your browser, and the password is neither stored nor transmitted.
- Does it work with iPhone and Android?
- Yes. The built-in camera on iPhone (iOS 11 or later) and on most Android phones recognizes the standard WiFi format and offers to join the network.
- Can I put my logo in the center without breaking the scan?
- Yes. We use error-correction level H. Keep the logo moderate in size, under roughly 25% of the code, and test the scan before printing.
- Which security type should I choose?
- Choose WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 in almost every case. Use WEP only if your router is very old, and "Open" if the network has no password.
- Which format should I download for printing?
- SVG is ideal for print because it keeps its quality at any size. PNG works for documents, slides or social media.
